Since 2005 Iworkclosely withgraphic designer Marloesde Laat (our collectiveis calledinopdrachtvan). Wegraduatedtogether, and started with thegraduation catalogue of Academy Arnhem (ArtEZ), whichwas nominatedfor theDutchDesign Awards, Items Spinhex prizeand The Dutch Studentprice. After all these years, westilllike toworktogetheron a project basis.
The following projects I designed in collaboration with Marloes de Laat
Catalog of Academy Arnhem (ArtEZ), 2005 . nomination Dutch Design Awards 2006 . 3d prize best Dutch graphic design student 2006 . nomination Items / Spinhex Award 2005
As a basis for the design of the catalog, we presented all students three multiple choice questions, in which they had to characterize themselves. By linking an X-, Y-and Z-axis of the three answers, there was created a three-dimensional model, a virtual exhibition space. This model visualised the links between students and their disciplines.
Students Brochure 2004/2005
The brochure is presented as a temporary file. We closed the bottom of the pages. At the time of sending the brochure, the school secretary supplemented the brochure with relevant pieces, including a registration form, a call for a symposium and several business cards of restaurants in Arnhem. In this way the student gets a complete and vivid picture of studying in Arnhem.
CODA museum Apeldoorn
Exhibition 'Aard van het beest / nature ofthe beast' Poster, catalog and invitation
7 posters were the basis of all printed matter. The posters are printed in different stages. First a layer with the images, then a layer with the typography. The remaining posters were cut and used as as leaflets and catalogs, so the emphasis was placed on the details and textures of the beasts. With this efficient way of reusing the printed matter, a catalog could be realized despite of the limited budget.
Jonge Architecten prijs
Identity of the young architectsprize
A set of contemporary, bold crib sets and duvet covers. The designs invite the kids to make the duvet covers part of their play.
The ancient art of lace making meets Space Invaders. Retro arcade games were a source of inspiration. A combination of the principles of an old craft with generation X nostalgia.
The design provides the kid with a new buddy: they can discuss their day with the character on the inside of the duvet cover. Including a fabric game controller :).
